I am originally from Varese, Italy, and hold a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. During my studies, I focused on 3D bioprinting, biomaterials, and tissue engineering. I also had the opportunity to spend a semester at Ghent University in Belgium through the Erasmus+ programme, where I attended courses and laboratory sessions in regenerative medicine and neuroengineering. For my Master’s thesis, I joined the Roger Williams Institute of Hepatology at King’s College London through the “Thesis Abroad” programme. There, I developed and optimized a confined perfusion bioreactor to investigate immune–extracellular matrix interactions in liver fibrosis models, combining bioreactor design and fabrication with cell culture and advanced immunohistological techniques.
I am currently pursuing my PhD at the Multi-Scale Robotics Lab (MSRL) at ETH Zurich, as part of the GREENS network funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. My research focuses on the development of micro- and nanorobotic systems by integrating Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) and Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) with magnetic structures for targeted drug delivery. I am particularly interested in combining smart materials, microfabrication, and magnetic actuation to enable controlled navigation and therapeutic release in complex biological environments.
Outside the laboratory, I enjoy traveling, staying active, and exploring new places.
